Introduction to Fabulous Fused Glass

Jump into this exciting class to learn the basics of glass fusing. You’ll use dichroic glass to create many stunning cabochons to use along with PMC3 or to stand alone. You’ll also learn to create glass pendants ready for joining with your favorite beads, leather or chains.

Dichroic glass is specially designed to be worked in a kiln. The brilliantly colored dichroic glass is created through the application of a variety of metals, such as titanium and niobium, in a high temperature vacuum furnace. In this workshop you will learn the basics of fusing glass by creating several dichroic glass cabochons suitable for jewelry such as earrings, pendants or brooches. After preparation, your pieces are gradually heated to at least 1400°F, allowed to "melt together" for a specific period of time and then gradually cooled to room temperature. The finished product has more than one color, and the different colors can be seen when the glass is viewed from different angles.

This workshop is strictly limited to 8 participants. This class fills fast, make your reservation now!
